ProspectFIT Recruit Evaluation:
This is a reference for Trey Wheeler, QB from Liberty High School in Renton, WA.

Trey Wheeler is a fine young quarterback. I had the opportunity to work with Trey directly as a quarterback for an entire weekend here in Southern, California. I have seen his mechanics on the field, tested his football knowledge of the game, worked with him on coverage reads and passing game competency. Trey Wheeler is a solid mid-Division I level QB or possibly higher depending on his senior results and growth. Trey is very, very smart and can move the chains with understanding where and when to throw the ball in the passing game. His throwing mechanics and accuracy are excellent. He is certainly a winner as he has proven already. His speed is ok, footwork excellent and his size above average to good. He has a nice stroke. His height is below average but he is built very solidly and athletically making him a durable player for the college ranks.

If you wish to discuss Trey please feel free to call me at the number below:

It is an honor to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of Trey Wheeler. For the past three years I have worked closely with Trey on the football field and in the weight room. His commitment to excellence has helped propel our football program from mediocrity to the state championship game. This theme of excellence stretches far beyond the parameters of Trey's athletic endeavors. For Trey, excellence is a life style.

Throughout his years at Liberty High School, Trey has enrolled in some of the most rigorous courses our school offers: Advanced Placement Calculus, Honors European Studies, and Physics. Last semester he earned a 3.95 grade point average. Trey's teachers appreciate him for his work ethic and respect he shows towards staff and students. He takes tremendous pride in his academic endeavors, and has a real thirst for learning.

On the football field Trey is the finest quarterback I have ever coached. Without his passion, determination and incredible focus, our team would never have reached the level of success we have the past two years. In his two seasons as our starting quarterback, Trey has helped lead the team to a 21-5 record, two trips to the state playoffs, and an appearance in the 2009 State Championship game. Trey's success on the field is a direct byproduct of the time he invests off the field preparing both mentally and physically for competition. Many athletes lift weights, run and study film, but none that I have observed do so as consistently and intensely as Trey. During the 2008 & 2009 seasons, Trey's diligence and commitment paid great dividends for our team and for him personally- he earned all-league as well as all-state honors.

The Liberty community benefits from Trey's leadership as well. He is a key member of our team's leadership council and volunteers for our annual youth football camp. Trey takes tremendous pride in teaching the fundamentals of quarterback play, and the young players who attend our camp have greatly benefited from his expertise. Simply put, Trey is a force for good at our school and in our community.

Trey Wheeler is an exceptional young man who holds himself to the highest standards. I give him my highest recommendation.

Mike Snow - Liberty High School Football, Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach
27 years of coaching experience. 2 years as Head Coach of the Milan (Italy) Rhinos of the Italian Professional League 4 years of collegiate coaching (2 UW & 2 Boise State) 21 years of high school experience

I had the chance to coach 2 future NFL quarterbacks, Hugh Millen and Chris Chandler while on staff at the University of Washington. It is my opinion that Trey Wheeler will excell at the D-1 level of college football.

During my 4 years coaching at the UW and Boise State, I had the opportunity to recruit numerous D-1 atheletes and to work with many more as a coach at the collegiate/professional level. I have said and still maintain that Trey has a better feel for the mental aspects of the game then either Hugh Millen or Chris Chandler had at this point in their respective careers. Trey's development reminds me of Chris Chandler's in his excellent accuracy, passion for the game and drive to succeed, I have no doubt Trey will be a success at the next level.
It is my opinion that Trey Wheeler will excell due to his accuracy in throwing, work ethic in preparing and exceptional ability to pre-read and then read coverages during the play.
These attributes and character traits have easily seperated him from any high school quarterback I have ever worked with in my 21 years of high school experience (2 State Championship games, 1 State title.)
Someone is going to get an outstanding QB when they sign Trey and the rest will find out in the years to come that they missed the boat.
