At first look one can be fooled by Trent Butler...more on that in a minute. He breaks into the 4.6 timed forty handheld and has a 4.7 timed laser electronic. He benches 185 lbs. 18 times. He squats over 500 lbs. He is very quick and has great feet. He hits blockers and running blocks like thunder literally dumping them on his back. He is about to cross over 180 lbs. Like it was mentioned, his looks are deceiving. He is only 5'7" inches tall, but so is the Chargers Darin Sproles. Trent is of that mold. Compact dynamite. He can flat play football.

Trent Butler transferred into our football program in July of this year and has been a tremendous addition to our football team. He picked up our offensive and defensive systems quickly, becoming our starting Strong Safety early in camp. Trent is a smart player with a very high football IQ. Trent is a compact, powerful player with great quickness and excellent ability. We would not expect someone to transfer into our program as a senior and immediately become a starter, which is a testament to Trent's ability.
Trent works hard on and off the field to improve, he has never missed a weight room session or a practice since his arrival. Trent will be an outstanding addition to any college football program.

Trent is a competitor in the truest sense of the word. He plays the game with passion and ferocity and quickly earned the respect of his new teammates this year. Trent is one of those special players that you will always find around the football. He finishes plays with violence yet he's the first guy to help an opposing player up off the ground. Trent has tremendous character and is willing to put in the work to succeed at whatever he puts his mind to. His versatility is a testament to his strength, speed and athletic ability. This year Trent played tailback, fullback, safety, inside linebacker, outside linebacker and every special team for us. Our philosophy as coaches was to get our best players on the field as much as possible, so we always made sure Trent was in the huddle.

October - 2009
Madisson Milner is following up his All-District performance of 2008 with another strong year at his strong tackle spot. He has started every game in Travis High School history (16 games) helping secure a 5A Div II playoff spot in the school's first varsity season in 2008. Madisson leads his unit in fewest busts and is near the top in knockdowns and not allowing his man in on the tackle. He possesses a great punch and continues to develop flexibility in his hips and knees which, in turn, is increasing the aforementioned numbers. The Travis offense's success moving the ball is reliant on the offensive line's effectiveness. Madisson has secured his place as a cornerstone of this unit.

Madisson Milner broke on to the scene last year in Travis High School's first year of varsity competition with an All-District performance and helped pave the way for a playoff berth. Madisson has a great punch and plays with good leverage. He has greatly improved his pass blocking from his junior year to become a rock from his strong tackle position. A consistent performer, Madisson has zero busts going into district zone play while continuing to grade out at a high level and posting knockdown numbers that put him near the top of his unit. As the season continues, Madisson's role will be vital to the offense's success.
April - 2009
Madisson has a solid frame coupled with a clear understanding of the techniques involved in leveraging defensive lineman and linebackers. He has developed a very effective punch that allows him to initiate control on a defender. His footwork improved week by week of his junior season and will continue to do so as he matures as an offensive lineman. He would project as a solid interior offensive lineman at the next level with the possibility of developing into a tackle in the future. He looks to build on an All-District junior year and continue his string of consecutive starts in every game he has suited up for varsity competition. Academically sound with excellent character make him a solid prospect for the right program.
- Madisson is just over a 3.0 student with just under a 1500 SAT score (see links below - you can print these from these links).
- Madisson is an excellent "quick" tackle for Travis as he has tremendous feet and agility.
- His zone and power blocking skills are close to the best that play the position in Texas.
- Madisson has one of the best "punches" in the District and is very powerful at point of contact.
- Madisson is an excellent pass blocker having given up NO sacks this season.
Steven Turpin Is Top Five In Wyoming
Campbell County's (WY) Steven Turpin Rises To The Top
Wyoming is a small state with a big star - Steven Turpin out of Gilette, WY plays for the Camels of Campbell County and he is considered one of the state's top recruits.
One coach from Wyoming recently commented, "Turpin is one of the top five players in the state, if not the top."
He certainly passes the eye test standing at 6'5" and 205 lbs. Turpin won the National Underclassmen Combine for the Rocky Mountain Region and represented such in Los Angeles, CA this summer where he competed with the nation's best. What position? Well, he went there as a wide receiver but Turpin has played CB, OLB, DE, WR and has even carried the ball on the fly sweep several times this season. He is being recruited as an athlete and has strong looks from the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University as a WR. However, he is a 'can't miss' guy as he is so versatile he can help a team all over the field and is a true "athlete" to the recruiters.
Not surprising as Turpin is the state's top competitor in the decathlon and boasts a few top vaults in the pole vault. Turpin has excellent speed having clocked 4.6 electronic in the forty yard dash. He is very strong naturally and has about 20 pounds he could put on rather easily in college.

Travis Center Alex Brown Getting Noticed
Alex has adapted well to the move from guard to center. He is continuing to develop an understanding of using leverage and working on hand placement. His technical knowledge of the offense and blocking assignments has become an asset to his position group. He has become the best pass blocker on the unit and will continue to get better in the run game.
May - 2009 - Position Coach Matt Farmer, Travis High School:
Alex will be an excellent find for a college program with the patience to allow him to mature in their program. Coming together as a football player, Alex has the frame to be a competitive college athlete. Sufficient strength numbers show promise for his development in the areas of speed, agility and quickness. Alex is an intelligent player with a good academic record and excellent character.
